Parents and Guests
Parent & Guest Orientation
At USC, we understand the vital role that parents and families play in the success of our students. We are committed to fostering a strong partnership with you as we work together to support your student’s transition to college life. Our Parent and Guest Orientation program is designed to keep you informed, involved, and engaged throughout your student’s orientation journey at USC.
Our thorough onboarding experience makes it easy to stay connected and up to date, as there are timely resources for all families. On-campus events enhance the information but do not replace the resources available online.
What’s Included for Parents and Guests
Throughout Welcome Trojans Orientation programming, you will learn about USC’s academic requirements, various student resources including health and financial services, housing, transportation, and meal plans. You will also have opportunities to meet other Trojan parents, hear from staff and faculty, and make your own connections to the Trojan Family!
Trojan Engagement Center for Guests
New students can add up to two guests to their Welcome Trojans reservation. This reservation will automatically grant their guests access to resources via the Trojan Engagement Center (TEC), our online hub for all things orientation. We strongly recommend that students add at least one guest to their Welcome Trojans reservation.
All guests must have a reservation with a current email address, unique to their reservation, to access the Trojan Engagement Center and receive the Welcome Trojans Weekly Updates.
Stay Connected, Stay Informed!
Beyond Orientation, there are many ways to stay connected with USC. Here are some ways to stay informed about what’s happening on campus:
- Email & Newsletters: The Trojan Parents & Families (TPF) newsletter goes out at the beginning of each month during the academic year (August – May) to parents and family members of current students.
- New parents and families are added to the email distribution list when your student has officially matriculated in the third week of your student’s first semester on campus.
- Social Media: Follow @uscfamilies on Instagram and join the USC Parents Group on Facebook, to stay up-to-date on news, deadlines, events, and tips for you and your student.
- Trojan Family Weekend: Experience Trojan Family Weekend, the university’s annual celebration for family members to visit their students and get an up close look at everything USC has to offer.
- TrojanAlerts: Sign-Up for Trojan Alerts, an emergency notification system that allows university officials to notify you of emergency situations developing on and around campus and provide real-time updates.
