Students are expected to stay in on-campus housing during the two-day Freshman Summer Orientation events. The cost of overnight housing is included in the New Student Fee.
Students share traditional dormitory-style residence hall rooms with assigned roommates. Accommodations include twin beds, dressers and desks for each resident, as well as community bathrooms for each floor. Orientation housing is not air-conditioned.
Bed linens, pillow, blanket and a towel are provided. Students should bring their own toiletries. Students and guests are housed in separate residence halls during Orientation, so please pack separate bags.
International Freshman Orientation
Students attending the International Freshman Orientation and assigned to university housing for the academic year will have the option to move in to their housing assignment as early as Monday, August 14, prior to the start of Orientation.
Students opting to move-in on Monday, August 14 will be assessed a $60 fee, which must be paid when making your orientation reservation. All students attending International Freshman Orientation with USC Housing contracts may move-in to their assigned housing on Tuesday, August 15 at no additional cost. Students may also opt to move in on regular Move-In Day, Wednesday, August 16.
You must specify your move-in date when you make your reservation for International Freshman Orientation.
If you arrive at International Freshman Orientation and want early move-in, without requesting it in advance, you will be assessed a $75 per night fee.
Guests may make their own arrangements at a local hotel or stay in an on-campus residence hall.

Guests may choose single- or double-occupancy. Those choosing double-occupancy will be paired with another member of their party or another guest of the same gender attending the program. International Freshman Orientation
Due to the proximity of the event to Move-In Day, on-campus guest housing is not available during International Freshman Orientation. Guests should make arrangements to stay at a local hotel.
On-campus overnight housing is available for students and guests arriving the night before an on-campus Orientation event. Select the Early Arrival option for both the student and guests when making your reservation. Details about Early Arrival housing fees can be found on our Fees page.
Early Arrival Check-In
Early Arrival check-in for students and guests will be located at Pardee Tower the day before Orientation. Orientation staff will be available for check-in from 4:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. After 11:30 p.m., Pardee Tower Customer Service Center staff will check in students and guests. The Customer Service Center is open 24 hours.
During the evening, students have the opportunity to meet each other through games and activities led by our Orientation Advisors. Evening activities last until approximately 10:00 p.m.
Meals are not included with Early Arrival. At check-in, you will be given information about local eateries near campus.
International Freshman Orientation (August Event)
Early Arrival is not available before the International Freshman Orientation.
Students attending this event and assigned to university housing for the academic year have the option to move in to their residence halls on Monday between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., before Orientation begins. Be sure to specify your move-in date when you make your reservation. There is a fee for early move-in on August 14. If you are not living in university housing, you will need to arrange your own accommodations during Orientation.
If you arrive before August 14, you will need to arrange your own accommodations until you move in to your housing assignment.
If you and your guests require overnight housing after Orientation, you can make arrangements directly with USC Summer Guest Housing to stay at Cardinal Gardens (3131 S. McClintock Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90007). Please note that Summer Guest Housing is in a different building from Orientation housing. You will need to check out of Orientation housing and move your belongings to Cardinal Gardens.
Students under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult in order to stay in USC Summer Guest Housing.
Summer Guest Housing is available from May 22 through August 4, 2017. Summer Guest Housing is not available during International Freshman Orientation. Spaces in Guest Housing are allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Meals, refreshments and snacks are provided to students and guests during Orientation and are included in the cost of the event.
Special meal requests should be entered in the Meal Option section of the online reservation form. Students and guests with special dietary needs or restrictions may also contact the USC Dietitian to discuss their options.
The Disability Services and Programs (DSP) office determines accommodations for all USC students. In order to receive accommodations at Orientation and for placement exams, students will need to register and request accommodations through DSP. This is also a great opportunity for students to set up their ongoing academic accommodations.
