If you are staying in Orientation on-campus housing, please pack a separate suitcase from your student. Students and guests are housed in separate buildings. Be sure to bring:

International Freshman Orientation (Students)

Located near the cultural center of Exposition Park and just minutes from Downtown Los Angeles, the USC University Park Campus (UPC) is easily accessible by major freeways and public transportation. The area also offers a number of hotels and dining options.

Airports

USC is accessible via the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Hollywood Burbank Airport.

Ground Transportation

Transportation to and from the airports is available by:

  • Lyft and Uber
    • Ride hailing pick-up points are available at both LAX and Hollywood Burbank Airport. Check airport information for pick-up locations.
    • Cost may vary depending on demand. In most cases, a ride will cost approximately $30.
  • Taxi
    • One-way fare costs approximately $50.
    • Look for the signs in the Ground Transportation areas of each terminal (outside Baggage Claim).
  • Shuttle Bus Services

If traveling by shuttle service, remember to make reservations for your return trip to the airport following the end of Orientation. Expect to stay at Orientation on 5:00 p.m. on the final day.

L.A. Metro

USC is also accessible via several bus and rail lines, including the Expo Line, which connects the university to both Downtown Los Angeles and the city’s Westside. For more information, visit www.metro.net.

If you are attending an Off-Campus Orientation, refer to your confirmation email for arrival instructions, which vary from location to location. Our Off-Campus Orientation locations are typically accessible by driving and/or public transportation.

Enter campus at the McClintock Avenue Entrance, located at Jefferson Boulevard and McClintock Avenue. Let the gate attendant know you are attending Orientation. You will be given a parking pass and instructed to park in the Royal Street Structure.

There is no additional charge for parking, and your pass will be valid for the duration of Orientation. However, you must display the pass at all times and obey all posted parking regulations or you will be ticketed.

Guests staying at local hotels may park their vehicles in the Royal Street Structure but they must obtain orientation parking pass from the gate attendant.
