Reservations for Orientation are available only to certified students (those who have submitted their Enrollment Commitment Deposit). Once your commitment deposit is processed, you will receive an email invitation to sign up for Orientation.
Please do not make travel arrangements to any Orientation event until you have received a confirmation email from the Office of Orientation Programs. Events typically last until 5:00 p.m. Plan on being at Orientation until that time and avoid making travel plans that require you to leave Orientation before it ends.
Below are the dates for our events. The reservation deadline for an event is 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the date indicated in the Reservation Deadline column, but will close earlier if they reach capacity. If your summer schedule is limited, we recommend making your Orientation reservation as soon as possible.

Regardless of when you attend Orientation, you will have a wide range of courses to choose from. Spaces are opened in courses throughout the registration period. Additionally, course registration during Orientation is open only to students attending Orientation on that date.
Our on-campus summer orientation events are open to all incoming transfer students and include separate, mandatory meetings designed specifically for international students. International students are welcome to attend any orientation event.
International students who are required to complete the International Student English (ISE) Exam as a condition of their admission to USC should attend the August transfer orientation, in order to ensure that they are able to complete the ISE Exam. Review your letter of admission and your I-20 to identify if you are required to take the ISE exam. Students who are required to take the ISE exam must do so in order to register for their courses.
New students who are United States military veterans are strongly encouraged to attend Veteran Orientation on June 28. This orientation event is hosted in conjunction with the Veterans Resource Center and will address the needs of veteran students. If you are identified as an eligible attendee for the Veteran Orientation event, you will receive a separate invitation email. You are also welcome to contact the Office of Orientation Programs and self-identify as a veteran so you can be added to the event.
Students who are dependents of veterans should plan on attending one of the July or August orientation events.
If you are unable to attend the June 28 event, the Veterans Resource Center will host sessions during all other summer transfer orientation events. These meetings are also open to students who are dependents of veterans. You can indicate your interest in attending this session when you make your orientation reservation.
All new students are expected to participate in Orientation. Your participation is the best way to get ready for your first semester of classes, have all your questions answered and meet other USC students and staff.
We understand that extenuating circumstances may prevent you from attending. If you are unable to make it to campus, you will still need to make a reservation for the “I Cannot Attend Orientation” option on the Orientation Events page. After you sign up, you will receive information about course registration and Welcome Week.
Our Welcome Week activities, which begin with Move-In Day, will help introduce you to campus life and all the opportunities for you to get involved. Please visit our Welcome Week website for more information.
