Keep an eye out for an email from the Office of Orientation Programs inviting you to reserve a Permit to Register. Your Permit to Register is a window of time during which you will register for your first semester of courses. You will select from dates and times set by your department.
Each Permit to Register window has a maximum capacity of reservation slots, so if a particular window closes, please make your reservation for the next available window. There will be seats open in courses during every Permit to Register window, so there are no advantages or disadvantages from one week to the next in terms of course availability.
On your reservation, you also have the option to add up to four adult guests who will receive email invitations to informational sessions offered throughout the Online Orientation Experience. Be sure to include your support team!
After you’ve made your reservation, your academic department will contact you to arrange an online appointment with an academic advisor. Your advising appointment will take place during the week leading up to your Permit to Register date.
The reservation system for Permits to Register is open Monday to Friday, excluding holidays, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time.
